The preferences panel is organized
into seven sections: Launch, New Items, Item Info,
Text, Views,
Slideshows,
and Close.

Launch
When Launching ScrapX Open: Selects the scrapbook that opens when ScrapX is opened or is made active when no scrapbook is open. There are three options: Most Recent Scrapbook, the scrapbook listed first under File > Open Recent; Primary Scrapbook, which is set using the Scrapbook > Set Primary SB command; and New Scrapbook, a new (empty) scrapbook.
When Opening Scrapbook: Two selections are possible. The first determines which view is displayed when a scrapbook opens; this can be the Combined, Item, or Thumbnail view. The second determines how saved display settings are used. They can be automatically retained or initialized for all scrapbooks, or ScrapX will open a panel so that the user can make a choice for each scrapbook.
New Items
Insert New Items: This preference determines where a new item is placed in the scrapbook: immediately before or after the current item, or at the beginning or end of the scrapbook. (This preference is overridden if "Keep Sorted" is checked in the Sort panel.)
Types Loaded for New Items: Choices are to load all available type information, or only that for supported types.
Type Filtering: Choices are "None" in which case all of the types on the clipboard are loaded,
"Only One Image" (the default) which causes redundant image types to be discarded, and "Primary Only" which causes all but the primary type to be discarded. (The last selection can be made if only supported types are being loaded.)
Item Information
Indication for Unsupported Types: When an item has one or more unsupported types, just the word "Unsupported" can appear in the type list, or the list can display all available information about the unsupported types.
Text
Plain Text Display Font: Use to select the font and size that will be used to display content in the plain text type.
Revert to Monaco 12: Click this button to reset the Plain Text Display Font to Monaco 12.
Views
Display a Dropbox View When ScrapX Is Hidden: If checked, scrapbooks for which Dropbox Mode is enabled will be displayed in Dropbox view when ScrapX is hidden.
Enable Dropbox Mode in New Scrapbooks: If checked, the Dropbox view is enabled for all new scrapbooks.
Thumbnail Size: Every scrapbook will open with the thumbnail size selected here. However, the thumbnail size for individual scrapbooks can be changed by resizing the Thumbnail view (dragging the lower right corner).
Slideshows
The values selected here become the default values for new scrapbooks. However, settings for individual slideshows can be selected from the Scrapbook > Slideshow Settings panel.
Display Each Item for __ Seconds: Select a value between 0 and 60 seconds; the default is 2 seconds. If 0 seconds is selected the slideshow will be under totally manual control.
Items Displayed: Determines whether the slideshow will include all items in the scrapbook except movies and sounds, or only the items with the checkbox checked.
Background Color: Select the slideshow background color by selecting from the color well.
Captions: If any of the "captions" options is selected, captions will be displayed in a white border area around each slide.
- Scrapbook Name: If checked, the scrapbook name will be displayed at the top of the Slideshow view.
- Item Number: If checked, the Item Number will be displayed at the bottom-left of the Slideshow view.
- Memo or Source Field: If checked, the content of the Memo field will be displayed at the bottom of the Slideshow view. Or, if the Memo field is blank, the content of the Source field will be displayed.
Close
Always Save Before Closing: If checked, scrapbooks will be automatically saved when they are closed.
