Comparison of ScrapX and Classic Scrapbook

Until OS X, the Mac OS included a scrapbook utility that is referred to here as the "classic scrapbook." Although it was the inspiration for ScrapX, the capabilities of even version 1.1 of ScrapX far surpassed those of the classic scrapbook.

Window Design

The Item view in ScrapX is very similar to the window in the classic scrapbook. ScrapX also has four other views.

Capabilities and Item Information

ScrapX, like the classic scrapbook, can:

• Accept and dispense content via copy and paste or drag-and-drop operations.
• Store, display, and dispense items in a limited number of data formats called "supported types."
• Store and dispense, but not display data in additional "unsupported types" that include data formats proprietary to the applications used to create the content.
